As prime consultant, DRC delivered a design/build, complete renovation of a 6,000-sf Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). A SCIF provides formal access controls, approved by the Director of Central Intelligence, and holds information concerning, or derived from, intelligence sources, methods, or analytical processes. SCIF space requirements as defined in the Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 1/21 and Red/Black Installation Guidance specified:

  • 5 Classrooms: 4 w/6 students and 1 w/12 students

  • 4 simulators; mini UPS and air conditioning

  • Secured screening entry area

  • Office space; 4 personnel include storage/safe area

  • Break room

  • HVAC/Elect Upgrade to support additional loads

  • Interior renovation: Carpet, walls, ceiling, windows & doors (45 STC rated)

  • Security/Alarms as required to meet DCID 1/21 and Red/Black Installation Guidance

  • Phones: 1/classroom, 2/entrance, 2/break room, 4/office

  • LAN interconnectivity stub outs

  • Additional restroom break room, classroom facility for west end of building

  • New exterior entrance and walkways

Design and construction included installing passive classroom equipment.
