As a subcontractor, DRC supported design and engineering on the Owens Lake Dust Mitigation Project, Phase 7, for the City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power, providing preliminary and final designs. Our team performed all civil engineering: reviewed as-built drawings for previous Owens Lake improvements; provided specific area civil and mechanical designs; and AutoCAD drafting to prepare preliminary designs for Phase 7 Dust Control Areas and other locations. Preliminary designs included all design criteria. DRC designed and engineered demolition plans of existing improvements: site, work limit, grading, culvert, controlled outlet, spillway, and piping. For each of the site’s shallow flood areas, DRC developed drawings for an Overall Site Plan, a Work Area Limit Plan, a Grading Plan, and a Lateral Piping Plan. Our team developed Final Design drawings for the shallow flood areas to an overall design level of 100% completion and a final Overall Site Plan for all of the shallow flood areas showing key features such as acres of each area, locations of berks, if any, maximum control elevation of water, inlets and outlets, spillway elevations, turnout locations, laterals, and locations and type of storm drainage control.
