The Hyperion Wastewater Treatment plant processes 380 mgd of wastewater of which 190 mgd receives secondary treatment. The Hyperion Full Secondary program as increased the plant’s secondary treatment capacity to 450 mgd. Converting the Full Secondary Treatment increased solids production substantially. The existing digester capacity had to be supplemented. The Digester Expansion Project included the design and construction of 18 primary digester and two secondary digesters. The Digester Expansion contract involved:
- General layout & distributed control system
- Digester facilities
- Sludge pump station & gardener/laborer facility
- MST 11 and 12 Load Center
- Tunnels
- Site-work
- Air gap reservoir and pump house
