Dewatering Centrifuge Expansion – Phase I: Before the full-scale expansion of centrifuge facilities, increases in sludge flows to the Dewatering Facility require an increase in capacity. This project involved installing three high-speed, high-solid 500 gallons per minute (gpm) centrifuges, which increased the capacity. Phase I Dewatering Interim Centrifuge Expansion (DICE 1): DRC designed, permitted, and provided construction management and start-up support for the recommended modifications. Phase II Denaturing Centrifuge Expansion Procurement: DRC prepared the procurement documents and provided assistance during the bidding process. This project entailed procuring the centrifuges to be used for the second expansion phase. Based on the results of the tests performed and on a cost-effective analysis, DRC concluded that the centrifuges needed to be replaced. Phase III Dewatering Centrifuge Expansion Facility: DRC designed, permitted, and provided construction management and start-up support for recommended modifications. DRC tested the completed facilities for compliance with conditions of the AQMD permit. Dewatering Centrifuge Replacement – DRC designed, permitted, and provided construction management and start-up support for the recommended modifications.
